At the moment I have a freshwater 10 gallon planted tank with 3 cory and 2 otos. I am not sure what type of cory they are.

I used to have a male and a female ram with 5 cardinal tetras in there. The ram were breeding and became aggressive and killed the cardinals. The next day both rams died. I THINK this was the reason for their death.
This happened about 2 days after i bought them/put them in. What else could be the reason for this?

I plan on getting some killifish because I think they are very cool looking. I am not sure exactly what else i can put in there. Any other ideas?

I also have an 8 gallon freshwater planted tank that has no fish. While i was away over the summer, i left my friend to take care of the tank. Unfortunately, the fish I had in their died and the tank was completely taken over by algae. Last night i emptied the tanks and cleaned it all out and replanted everything. So far it looks good =]
I'm looking for ideas on how to stock that as well... ideas please!

Lastly,
I have flakes, freezedried brineshrip, and freezedried bloodworms to feed my fish. I am planning on rotating.
Is this a good idea?
And will the cory eat the things i have? or will i have to get sinking food?

THANKS

FAIL

You just managed to wipe out all of the beneficial bacteria in your tanks. You've got to cycle them all over again, so you shouldn't be worrying about fish for another few weeks to a month or so.

[edit] I figure I should give more substance to a post. Others tend to complain when I blast people for acting like noobs.

Rotating foods is a good idea, although they won't mind terribly if you keep one. If there is a food that causes them to retain better coloration or act more robustly, you may want to stick with that one.

Keep an eye on the plants in the tank you just redid because the ammonia in the tap water might damage those.

If you want to keep rams, a pair alone in the 10g is most ideal. I probably wouldn't keep spawning rams if you only had the 10g and the 8g. (What will you do with fry?)

As for the 8g, you could plant that and have a betta with a few cherry shrimp or snails. There are limited options with tanks that small, but the whole nano tank fad is around now. You'd be better off asking them (or try aquaria central) as most people here have larger fish [in larger tanks].

Thank you
and I am letting the 8 gallon cycle and the 10 gallon tank was left alone for about a week or so before i put fish in
