Severum Addict

I think I've developed an addiction to Severums, and would like to know whether adding 2 more would be a good idea...

Tank is 125g, Fluval FX5, black sand, and an a-load of driftwood, and some floating plants..

Contents are:

1 female Convict
3 spotted Pictus
1 African Knife Fish (Xenomystus nigri) (plan on possibly adding 1 more)
3 Green Severums
1 Rottkeil Severum

I want to add another Rotti, and possibly a gold, or just two Rotti's...

It all depends on the temperament of your sevs on whether you can add more. I currently have 5 in a 180G (1 gold & 4 rotties). They all seem to co-exist okay with a nipped fin here and there. I had 2 gold males at one point, but the one I have now did not play well with the others. He doesn't seem to mind the rotties too much.

You may have better luck if they are all the same sex so there isn't competition for the opposite sex.

They're still too young to sex.. Largest is about 3" long, and 2" high, maybe.. One of my Greens (first one) is kind of a snot, but not too bad. I think it might be a "he" looking for a "she", since only the Convict, cats, and Knife are immune to his "pursuits".

My Rottie's just the cutest, mildest mannered adorable little fish. I want more.

I just got two Rottkeil's shipped to me yesterday and they are great. I think you would be fine with another....I am currently on the hunt for a red severum, but I agree a gold would look good in ur tank...
