Severum and non-cichlid tankmates

I'm looking for some help deciding on the best non-cichid tankmates for my red spotted severum. Something like a group of tetras if anyone one has any experience doing this and can advise on which species work and which dont

Personally I would say one group of Bleeding Heart, Serpae Tetra, Diamond Tera or Columbian Tetra . Only one species but if aquarium is large enough than other species could be added.

In addition to those that tlindsey mentioned, i would recommend lampeye or blackskirt tetras. Both grow to a respectable size, hard to be mistaken for prey by even a large hungry severum.

I really like the Serpae tetra. I have the standard and long fin, if kept in large groups they work well. I have a group of 20 with angels and no issues.

My tank is 48"*18"*18" and I like the sound of one group of the same fish but unsure which to get and wanted get opinions of people who have actual experience not just what I can read on the internet . thanks for the replies

My lfs suggested serpae tetras and I like the look of them and also I like black widows would they work out long term and how many would be a good group for the size of the tank

I’ve had a school of clown loaches and roseline sharks with my severums.

I like clown loach but my tank isn't big enough to house them long term and I'd like to keep them from young to adult thank you for the suggestion I'm not sure what Roseline sharks are but I'll have a google for them now thanks

What is the aquarium size?

Aquarium is 48"*18"*18" with a sand substrate and large pebbles ,plants and root wood that I can't remember the name of sorry
