Hi everyone i just picked up two severums this week and they live with my uaru colony. They are only a little bit over quarter size so i cant tell the sex but i was wondering if it would be okay to have two male severums in a 125 gallon without disputes. My next question is concerning my older uarus they seem to have little tiny tiny what looks to be hole in the head but idk how this could be because i thought i gave them enough variety of food and i have good water conditions. I made sure not to even have carbon in my filter because ive heard reports that it can be triggered by that if theres an excess of carbon. I feed them flake food and bloodworms. They also eat cucumber i put in for my plecos so i think they are getting enough vegetable and protein in their diet so idk what it could be. They seem to be very happy also, the two bigger ones pair up and swim together insuperable and i got five more a bit over quarter size to grow into the colony. Any help is much appreciated.

Is it HITH or sensory pits? Do you have pictures?

Uaru are pretty sensitive to water quality, so try and keep your nitrates under 10 if possible. Also, you can add more veggies to their diet. Mine liked romaine lettuce, frozen peas (defrosted with the skin off), even things like veggie/algae wafers for plecos. Mine liked it all. Instead of flake, I'd try and give them a high quality pellet food.

The severums should be okay. My 210g is mostly male severums. Without a female, they only have the occasional chase or fight. I only see major aggression when they are trying to breed or pair off. My tank calmed down a lot when I separated all the females into another tank.

Personally, I have never succeeded in keeping more than one male sev in either of my tanks (80G and 150G).

Agree with Ryan about getting your uaru onto quality pellets , ideally New Life Spectrum. Just compare the ingredients list on your "flake" with that of NLS and you will know which one is better !

Im sorry im new to uploading and dont really know what im doing took these picks quick with my iphone. I think they might be sensory pits because my other uaru has them in the same exact spots. One of the pics got a water stain sorry but i hope you can see the pits good right around the eye.
