Hello,
Just wondering if anyone can provide help or suggestions with my Severums breeding..

I have a Pair of Green Severums about 6-7 inches each, they go through the mating acts all the time even to the point of lightly injuring each others lips, they guard their area and dig their pit etc.. they used to lay eggs (5 or 6 times over the past year, at least that have been noticed) each time they turn white and get eaten.

Now since I have moved, even though the tank is setup the same way, they still do all the mating stuff except never lay eggs at all... I check each day so unless they are eating immediatly they are never layed..

Anything you would suggest? fyi its a 75g with 2 5 inch silver dollars and 4 1.5-2 inch silver dollars. am I doing somthing wrong or are they just never going to complete the "transaction" :)

Thanks

Ok so yesterday Morning I found another batch of eggs, FAR larger batch then ever before. So far a day or so later eggs are still there and havnt turned white... wish me luck

Good luck. For many cichlids it takes a couple of tries before they get it right. My sevs breed all the time and eat the eggs. The only time I've actually had a batch raised to wiggler status was when the bachelor male chased off the breeding pair and raised the eggs himself.
