Their are two fish I realy like at the LFS. They are both Severums. One is a Turquoise and the other Green. Now we all know males are the most impressive of any species:naughty::naughty: but can they be housed together? In a 85G?

Thanks

Thank you very much. Anyone else with advice and stories please post. I figured they would only fight in the presence of a female.

I keep two reasonable sized juveniles in my current 4x2 footprint, and also did so in a 36x15" footprint. I've found Severums (in more cases than my own) to show a reasonable amount of con-specific aggression, however this dithers off after a few weeks.

I believe mine are male and female, but show no signs of becoming a pair. There is still slight bouts of aggression but this has to be expected with Cichlids.

I have a pair of golds, and they are for the most part not that bad aggression wise, they will not coexist with my blood parrot or any orange or gold coloured fish for that mater and since being put in their own tank (hoping they will finally get the breeding right if alone) have taken to attacking my hand when cleaning the tank but aside from that they are pretty laid back, I had them in with my oscars for a little bit with no problems and have keep my blue acara's in with them and had no problems until they breed. Aside from the bp and when they breed the only fish I have had any major problems with was another male severum who I had to give away once the pair formed.
