I'm getting my stock figured out to free up a tank for a few new species. I have a female GT that is around 4" and a male Super Red Sev that is also about 4". How would these two get along in a 75/90G?

Probably fine but I would keep a close eye to make sure the GT doesn't bully the sev. From everything I've read severums don't pick on others much but can generally stand up for themselves to some degree.

Severums are awesome fish! Very docile and GT well the name gives it away but usually they are tame depending on whos around them.

People keep Severums with rays all the time and no ill effect. They remind me of a hardier version of discus with a cichlid girth.

Super Red Severum are some of my favorite looking fish ever. I've heard it work with those 2. Best of luck

I've owned GTs in the past and have always been mellow, this one being female should also be such. It is living with tetras currently.

Do you think any other cichlid could exist with them? I'd like to stick to SAs in this tank.

Thanks for the feedback! I also agree on the red sev aspect.

I had a 8" male GT and a 6" male sev in a 120 years ago. They did not grow up together. When I added the GT he was bossing around the sev quite a bit. One day the sev had enough and pushed back. Since then the GT behaved like a whimp and hid from the sev the whole time.

I think if your red sev can take care of the GT, it's all good. If the GT is the more aggressive fish, watch out.
