Help guys ive got a male female severum and i they have their tubes out and are running uo and down a certical rock and attacking anybody near it should i move the eggs im worried my pikes will eat the eggs and are they breeding

nope!!! Leave them..The sevs should protect them.. You might look into a divider until the eggs are hatched and the fry is free swimming. then scoop them out..

where don you find dividers for 150s

I made all of mine... Use some pvc, plastic eggcrate material, and some zip ties..You can get all the stuff at home depot or lowes.. I'll search and see if i can find the instructions and link you..

You might want to get a ten gallon tank ready with a sponge filter (it won't suck up the fry) and some of the water from the tank they spawned in. I had severums spawn in a community tank and as soon as the eggs hatched I used a piece of ridged aquarium tubing attached to a length of airline tubing and siphoned the fry out. You have to be careful and not have the bucket you are siphoning them into so far below the tank that you create a huge suction, you want to gently suck them up, and have some of the tank water already in the bucket to cusion them. The parents did not seem to perceive this as a threat and I got out about 85% of the fry. A few days later all remaining fry had been eaten by the other fish.

As soon as you put the fry in the tank you have a few days until they use up their yolk sacs and begin feeding, so the same day you put them in the rearing tank start some brine shrimp eggs. By the time they hatch (usually 24 hrs. the fry should be close to swimming and feeding. You'll be hatching shrimp for at least 2-3 weeks!

Good luck!

weel ive got a thirty with a sponge

Nice nice, use that 30 with sponge, as long as its empty and the water has run its cycle through, I would run down to lowes and get the Egg crates as the guy said to keep the pikes out and only the severums in the on side of the tank, then like he said siphon the small fry out, but not too hard of a suction do the fact of stressing/killing all the fry with a big whoooooosh into the new tank hahahhaa.

thanks i will try for picks

and could i judt take the rock out and put it in the 30
