Hoping someone has some input... I recently added a juvenile severum to my planted 55 gallon. All he does is chill in the plant. The first day I saw him doing it I thought he was dead. Then he was swimming all fine to eat. He's been doing this for a week now. Is he just nervous in the tank? It's stocked with 3x10 schools of tetras (pristellas, blood fins, & neons) and 5 Cory cats. Everything reads 0 and pH is 6.5

He's most likely just settling in, give him some time I've had fish hide for weeks before they come out of their shells

Agreed. I have purchased many cichlids over the years and many of them would just hide for the first week or two while they settled into their environments. Ironically, my super red severum that I purchased a few months ago was one of the few fish I ever bought that was out and about from day 1.
