Is it possible? I'm looking for a large fish in my community tank. I just bought the tank near to last week and I already have some fish in it. It's 70g's.

Angels
Red phantoms
German rams
Clown loaches
And a gold nugget pleco

As long as you're not planning on breeding any of them I think they would be a nice addition. How many of each do you have already?

Sorry It took me so long to reply :)

8 Red phantoms
5 Clown loaches
1 German ram
I currently have 1 unknown species of pleco
And I'll be getting 2 adult angels for free in 2 weeks or less.

I also might plan on putting some hatchets in there, I'll give that a miss if I'm getting the severum.

Sevs get big, just keep that in mind

So do discus? :D I'm just wondering if it would be possible to put a severum in a community tank? My LFS told that I could, But they're normally wrong about most things...

I keep both, just in different tanks. A group of discus would do well in your 70 gal w/ species you mentioned. Once a severum gets up to 10 inches or so, most of those fish could become a meal, maybe sooner. If you started w/ a very small sev you could be ok for a while though. My notatus have attitudes and my 7 inch one is keeping a festae aka red terror in check at the moment.

I dont think it would be a problem as long as youre not putting more than 1 or 2. Id stay with just one though. And id get rid of 2 of the CLs. They also get very large. Also, hatchets would be a good addition as well imo. What kind of filtration you run?

Well... The clowns take like 13-15 years to grow full size, So I'm not worried about that? And Yeah, I think I'll skip on the severum and just get some hatchets. The filter is an Eheim classic 500 By the way

Thanks, Like I said in my other post, I think I'll pass on the severum. But yeah, Hopefully when I get enough money I'll buy some discus.
