Here is my severum in his planted community tank. He was bullied by a larger one and has been stunted a little. I have moved the larger aggressive one into another tank and this little guy is starting to come out and eat more.

He doesn't seem to touch the plants any and neither did his bigger cousin. The larger sev used to chase the other angels a little but the smaller one is completely peaceful. He's not much bigger than the larger angels.
