I want to breed Severums... My tank is a 75Gallon. The stock will have.
(2)severums
(1)Geophagus Jurupari
(1)Gymnogeophagus
(2)Clown Plecos
(4)Clown Loaches

Now I am going to acouple petstores tommarow. What is the easyest way to sex Green/Gold Severums? I am not realy in a Rush but I would like to know.

I had another thread about sexing my Severum and they said male I also think male but if any1 says dif let me know. It might still be to small but thanks.

Male, worm-like markings usually indicate it's a male. G/L with the breeding project!

This is not always true,my female has incredible worm-like markings on her face .I think the only true way is to vent the fish , i dont know how to do that but ... or wait and see who lays eggs or which ones pair off

Nice looking sev, I dont know much about breeding them other than they are mouth brooders something I would love to see first hand, if it happens get some video of the brooding. GL!!!

That's why I said usually. :) Like most fish there are ways 95% reliable, the only way to know for sure is venting.

Maybe saving up and buying a proven pair is the way to go.
