My severums recently laid eggs and all the eggs are yellow. I think that means there fertalized. correct me if I'm wrong.

Can anbody tell me how long it will take for the eggs to hatch? Also info on what to feed them as fries would be helpfull as well.

mine hatch about half a week to a week later, they took about a week then to become free swimming. i usually just leave the fry in the tank and they get eaten. i actually today for the first time pulled the fry and put them in a 10g tank. this is about the 8th or 9th fry since january. i've heard people say they will eat stuff off the ground. i plan on dropping in pieces of sinking wafers in every couple of days.

So they will most likely just get eaten from what you said. I kinda didnt doubt that really seeing as I have 2 other severums 1 frontosa a jack dempsey and 2 tire track eels in the tank.

yeah, if they were the only ones in the tank they'd do pretty good. my sevs are very good parents but their tankmates ate all the fry from previous spawns.

you can try and syphon them out after they are free swimming if you want to try to raise them.

Siphon them off into a small tank with a sponge filter. Change water daily. Feed something like First Bites or freshly hatched brine shrimp. Parents will defend in the tank once they get the hang of it so things could get ugly quick.

And I dont want that to happen because my Frontosa would kill the severums.
