severum rescue

I was at a lfs recently and seen a 3" gold severum in a tank with (2) 10" oscars. The severum appeared to be weak form lack of food and the oscars picking at its fins. I rescued the severum and since I put him in my 125 his fins started to heal up and he's full of life.

I dont know why the lfs put him in the tank with the oscars in the first place for there were several empty tanks available.

Yeah, I'd say good intentions, but I really don't consider something a rescue unless it is from some guy on craigslist who is selling a way overgrown fish for its tank. Example, a 10" gar in a 29 would be a rescue IMO.

Yeah but it increases the demand for them so there will be more to come to get beaten up.

ok ok ok either way it would of been killed and that would open space for possibly another or he could get rescued and go to his new rectangle paradise.
