Cool thread title, eh?

Anyway, initially I thought my Severum was a female... just because I did.

Now I am starting to wonder:

(Don't mind the reflection in the last shot... )

Can anyone confidently tell me if this is a male or female? It is just under 3" now. I've been calling it "Chick", so if it's a male I've got some thinking to do. :grinno:

edit: WOW... Those look pretty blurry after posting them. Can you still tell?

yeah a lil blurry, but i believe the males are much more colorful and have more worm-like striations on the face. Trailers are usually longer.

I've only kept gold severums. Well one gold sev, female kept for about 6 years.

One of the best fish i've ever kept.

The best I can get right now... When the sun goes down, it will be much easier to get a clear shot:

It is starting to develope those "worm" markings under and around it's eyes, and they appear to be getting closer to it's mouth.

When i 1st got my lil uns, they all looked male lol, turned out only 1 was, so give him a couple of months and you should be able to tell 90%.
