I've now become obsessed with Severums and other semi-aggressive cichlids, lol. At first my plan was to put a pair of Severums in my empty 55 gallon, but I've decided to set up 220 gallon for Severums and some other guys. So far, these are some of the fish I'd like to keep with them, and I want to know if they're compatible:

1 Red Spot Severum
1 Red Shoulder Severum
1 Green Severum
1 Black Convict
2 Honduran Red Points
1 Blood Parrot
1 Blue Acara
2 Geophagus
2 Rainbow Cichlids
1 Flag Cichlid
2 Sajica Cichlids
1 Chocolate Cichlid

I'm concerned that I will need a larger tank than a 220 gallon. Would a 220 work for this many fish or do I have to go bigger? Would all these guys get along? Would it be possible to have any small community fish like tetras or gouramis with them (or dwarf cichlids, perhaps)?

I would get rid of the convict and red points (aggressive and when they breed a huge issue) chocolate may also get to big.. everything else seems ok. And a school of larger tetras would work.. congos or alestes come to mind. Good luck

I just changed up my 220 with a very similar idea in mind. I went with 2 chocolates , 6 green severum (won't really know what kind they are until they get some size) and 3 goes. I really considered a pair of HRP but decided against it.

If you are obsessed with the sevs you should get some more of them and less of the others you listed

Thanks. What would be the issue if the Chocolate got too big? Would it bully the other fish or would it just not have enough space?
