bigger is always better but a 5x2 would be fine, you should be able to house a lima in there aswell

if all bought around the same time i shouldnt have to worry bout the lima outgrowing the severum and eating them correct? the limas are around 4-5"

It depends on the size of severum. If it is small about an inch or two its a goner but I don't a 4-5" lima will be able to eat a 3 inch severum because severums are tall. Don't quote me on that though because from my expience with my 7" lima, it didn't eat my JD who was only 1" tall and the JD was in the tank with the lima for 2 months or less.

i started another thread on severums and snook, if i wanted to keep snook severum and a lima anyone have a count on how many of each fish could happily live full grown in that tank?
