I'm currently keeping a green sev, gold sev,and firemouth temporarly in a 36g bowfront til the sealant in my 75g dries. The firemouth and gold severum have took a liking to each other and spend a good amount of time together swimming around, sharing hiding spots. The gold severum has become quite the bully and will chase the green sev around. Will this aggression cease over time or will it continue even when they get moved into the larger tank and spend more time together in there? I know this answer can't really be answered but anyone's experience and knowledge would be helpful.

Like you say, experiences will differ. A larger tank may smooth things out, but not necessarily. I had a 4.5" green severum and a 4" rotkeil in a 220 gallon cichlid community tank and the green severum would not let up on the rotkeil. If he saw it, he'd chase it down. I'm guessing both are male. Anyway, I eventually moved the rotkeil to a 110 gallon tank with less boisterous company. The green severum remains in the 220 and shows little or no aggression to the other fish.

So, hope for the best but be prepared to intervene. Be sure to provide places for the green severum to hide. Good luck!

Adding them to the new tank at the same time may give them a level playing field, so to speak. There's still the chance that they will not get along. You could add more severums to diffuse the aggression but you probably don't have a lot of room for that. The other option would be to just separate them.

You could try taking the aggressor out and leave him in a bucket for a bit, while you re-arrange the decor. Then add him in again after 30 minutes or so. Sometimes that will help.

I think my gold is on the level of Fug202s aggression. Any time the gold sees the green he chases it.I believe they are both males.getting some nice lines in their faces.
