Please help
Ulcers appeared a week ago and are rising.
Is this hole in the head?

Can you give me your water parameters? Specifically PH and hardness if available.

As a start and if you have limited acess to meds do a large 50% + water change to that add 1 tablespoon of salt per 5 gallons of water to the tank. If there are tankmates I would treat the whole tank. Metronidazole would also be effective if available to you and can be used in conjunction with salt.

Look like hole in the head desease. Fish from soft water Amazon basin is susceptable to HITH if kept in hard water. What are your water parameters. I don't think adding salt will help as salt will just add more minerals to mineral poor soft water.

You are correct salt alone will not cure this. It will however provide some therapeutic benifit until and during treatment with Metronidazole. The treatment with a clean environment will facilatate recovery.

Thanks for your help.
Metronidazole (alone) do the job in great way. All ulcers are clear and there is no hole.
Ph in my place is 7,6 on dry season and 7 on raining season. That could be a factor.
About salt: is it safe with plecos? I have one L200 in the same tank.
