I just wanted to share that two of my Gold Severums have paired off and are now courting. I put in a nice flat piece of shale for them to lay eggs on and I have a divider ready to go once they start laying eggs. I even bought some Hikari First-Bites for the fry once they hatch. Now I just need to get them to do it already! lol

I've done some research and I've noticed that they're mouthbrooders. I'm not sure if I need to handle that any differently.

Any suggestions or advice for me? :naughty:

Severums are not mouth brooders. They lay their eggs on a flat surface and guard them until they hatch. As for my red sevs they lay on a half pot I put in a corner. But yes the divider is a good idea. They do tend to eat the eggs. Just make sure to put a bubble stone by the eggs for good water circulation.

I'm honestly not sure where I pulled that information up at anymore. I could very well be just confusing some of my research with some other species too. OMG I feel so dumb right now.. :(
