Severums+Discus?

Does it work, or bad idea? Also how many discus could live for life in a 72 gallon bowfront ? I was thinking a pair? All input appreciated!

bad idea. sevs while not aggressive like most other sa would stress and outcompete the discus. An adult pair will work fine you could start with 6 juvies let them pair naturally then remove the others. add some cardinals or rummy nose a paiir of rams or apistos and your good to go!

Ok sweet! I am getting as many as I want for free from a friend so I was just curious if I could through a few in with my Severums in my 220 but Since I can't I will just get 6 like you said and hope for a pair

You could fit 7-8 in there if you went with a barebottom tank. 10 gallons per adult fish is the guideline. Get at least 5 though as they do better in groups.

& no to the discus + sevs question. Sevs are too aggressive & are food hogs. I tried sevs and angels and it lasted less than 6 hours. Had some beat up angels afterwards too.

i have 4 discus and 2 smaller sevs, the discus pack was intact first, then added very small sevs, they get along. I know that ill have to move the sevs soon but for now they are good.

I also have a male betta in the tank as well...
