Hello all,I havnt been here in forever but I feel I need some input on my current situation. I recently fell in love with severums and got two.a baby green and a baby gold.both about an inch.I had them in my 55 with others til I had my 36 gallon bowfront setup.Im resealing a 75 gallon for em and I know 36 isn't big enough for full grown sevs.in my.36 I have the two sevs,a firemouth about the same size as the sevs(he moved with the sevs from the 55 because he was always hanging out with them),an albino longfin bristlenose pleco and two ghostcats, they got moved.because the skirt tetras in my 55 were tearing up their whiskers antennae like face protrusions. Theeeeennnn my adult male convict in the 55 messed up my normal plecos eyes.I had this happen before and we deducted it being the cause of the pleco bumping into something or the cae and a fungal eye infection.but I actually seen my con nip at his eyes so I moved my normal pleco to the 36 for treatment.my normal pleco is approximately 8". How long will this 36 stocking work? I have a 350 gph penguin biowheel filter,a 20 gallon top fin filter,a 14" bubble wall,a heater keeping the water at 78,they are on sand and I do a water change/vacuuming whenever I see a poop pile.In my 55 gallon i have 1 adult male convict,2 young female convicts,1 chinese algae eater,9 skirt tetras.filtering that is an aquaclear 110 and a little 15 gallon filter on the other side, sponge filter also.my water parameters,ph 7.8,nitrite 0, nitrate 0,temperature 78.the same for both tanks.mind you I'm resealing a 75 gallon for the 36 gallon inhabitants.I will be getting a bigger tank when the pleco and sevs outgrow that too.I love that normal pleco and severum.questions,comments,input,advice.ramble ramble thanks.oh and the biowheel on the 36 came from my 55 gallon that has been established for more than a year.thanks.

The tank with the convicts they will breed so i would take the fish that are in the 36 gallon and put them in the 55 gallon and put the convit in the 36 gallon..

I did that at first..it just makes sense but then the male convict just sulks and so does my family because he's become the family wet pet as the 55 is downstairs in the living room and the 36 upstairs in my room.I'm almost done with the 75. All the old sealant is scraped off and I'm cleaning it up to masking tape it and add the sealant to dry up and test its stability.the 75 had no leaks,I got it used and wanted to reseal it for peace of mind.could the 36 house these buddies for at the least another month? I would hate to move all the fish just to move everyone again soon after they settle in,ya know.

The severums and fire mouth i guess but just for 1 month..

So I'm trying to figure out how to not move my male convict out of the 55 and keep the pleco upstairs away from him.ive been reading a lot of horror stories of cons and plecs. Would the severums and firemouth fare well in the 55 with one male adult con,one young female(less than 3"), and the skirts and cae? The big con doesn't mind them swimming around him at all for now.I was thinking I could move one of the females upstairs so it would just be the bristlnose pleco and normal pleco with the two ghostcats and a young female con, this ones under 2".I'm not having any water quality issues yet but I am vacuuming a lot of pleco poop every other day and I don't want to stunt anyone by there being to much hormones in the water or an ammonia or nitrate spike.my 75 is gonna take longer than anticipated as I made the bottom look ugly while the sides are perfect and I'm gonna have to just reseal the whole thing again because I'm not happy with it and don't want to let it set a month for a water test to have it all fail.blah.anyone else, input?

I would say no

Ehk.I'm just gonna part with my common pleco to free up the bioload stress in the 36.ill just get another pleco when my 75 is up and running and ready for a poop monster like him.maybe something a lil fancier like a royal pleco if water parameters permit(havnt researched their specific care yet)also ill get a the canister filter that will run on my 75 running on my 36 and let my cousin take in my firemouth as he has a 40 gallon being setup for this female convict of mine he wants. I do want a lil school of some kind of fish in my convict 55 gallon though.I like ghostcats but I don't believe them to be to active swimmers as schoolers although they would look cool altogether and my cons never pay em any mind.maybe some tiger barbs?those are nippy like skirts aren't they?should I just start another thread for this specific topic?
