Severums in a 50 gallon?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I love to see them get some pic if you can and good luck on the pair.

Bio-load wise they should be fine with regular water changes. The problem I had was my male was super mean to the female except when they were guarding eggs. They were in a 250 g tank at one point and he still beat her fins to peices. I hope your male's nice than mine :-)

Cool. They are in my 90 gallon right now, they are guarding eggs/wrigglers so have become quite aggressive/defensive. They are stressing their tankmates out so I was going to sell them, the person who was interested has a 50 gallon which was why I was asking. It's the female who is the more aggressive of the two right now.

Here is a video of the pair.:)

Thanks!

They have full wrigglers now, I was expecting them to be much more violent toward their tankmates, but they are actually just keeping to themselves pretty much. They chase other fish away if they come too close but that's about it.

Anyone know how long it takes to go from wrigglers to free swimming fry? Once they are free swimming do I start feeding them? I am thinking about scooping a few babies out into a ten gallon when they start swimming just to save a few.
