I have two green severums about 4 inches each in a 55 with 2 meeki, 2 finfoil barbs and a royal pleco. Is this a mating thing or aggression? I was leaning more towards agression because I dont know what age severums have to be at before they start breeding. If someone could shed some light on this for me that would be great. If I can get a quick picture or video I will upload it.

My Severums lock lips quite often and have never bred.

Can be either. Many signs are shared between aggression and breeding (because aggressive behaviour is displayed during breeding - or at least during the initial bonding phase). Liplocking is one of these signs.
Though sometimes you can tell based on just how violent it is. Battles will be very violent, whilst bonding behaviour isn't as violent.

I am honestly leaning towards both being female actually. From everything I have read online, checking several different sources mind you, neither of my fish match the descriptions.. *sad face*
