Could this be breeding behavior or does this seem normal for severums?

It could be spawning behavior or just territorial behavior. Do you notice any other strange behaviors?

My severums were lip locking just last night

They will lip lock for a couple of days then look to see if the vent has dropped soon after she will lay

The females ovipositor (where she lays eggs from), which will usually drop 48-24 hours (IME) before she lays eggs.

Last week i removed all of their tank mates and sold then paving to do something different with the tank in the near future then noticed this! Don't think it's territorial because they do it constantly and it's not like they are fighting they just lock lips and sit there like that for a while! They have been hidden inside the sunken shop all day the pay two days so I'm thinking i may have fry in there sometime before long!

Any info on possibly getting fry to grow out to size enough for selling or giving away?

Severums are usually good parents but if this is the first batch from them after day 3 or 4 remove half of the babies and leave some for them to raise ,it helps the parents to be good parents but you'll probably end up loosing those as they need a few batches to get it right ;) you'll need to start feeding all the babies by this point I usually crush pellets or give them flakes I sell my babies at 6 mths so they are strong and healthy :) good luck drop some pics too if you can ;)
