Severums starting to pair up.

I have 7 pcs severums starting to pair up, can't wait to see rotkiels pair up currently i have a pair of red severum , but they don't seem to lay eggs?
i have a pair of mouthbrooding severum and they ;laid eggs once but those were just eaten.
anything i should be doing besides water chaneg to get my red severums to lay eggs? like adding slate? pots? gravel?
or would it be better to separate them into another tank? i'm just waiting for eggs right now before separating them

it would probably be better to separate them

when cichlids eat their eggs its usually just a practice clutch of eggs
they'll get it right after a few times

Severums usally take a few times before they get it right. It can be frustrating but hang in there.
