I never thought it would happen. But heres how it happened:
-My severums laid eggs about three weeks ago. Both severums are about 6-8 inches and were very protective of their spawn as expected.
-After the fry were free swimming I took them out and placed them in a ten gallon tank.
-A week later my texas cichlids spawned on the same piece of wood as the severums did.
-A couple days went buy and the severums pushed the texas cichlids off of the wood and took over. Originally I thought they were going to eat the eggs but now they are protecting them. I am 100% positive they are texas eggs too as I saw them being laid.
-Now I have texas wigglers and two severums protecting them.
I dont think its anything crazy but it was kind of funny how it all worked out. I didnt know if it has happened to anyone else. I wish I would have taken pictures but I dont try to get my fish to spawn so I dont really pay attention. Its just my peacock bass tank with others in it lol.
