Hi. I have 2 full grown severums (not sure which kind they are exactly, I just bought them as "green severums") and was wondering what school of tetras I could put with them. If not tetras, what would you suggest? I want a decently large school of small fish, neons or black neons in mind, and do not want any fish larger than 1-2 inches max growth. I figure I'll lose some fish every once in awhile. I just want to know what yall think would be good with 2 severums, 1 male 1 female. What will they not rip apart. Thanks!

If you want to do tetras, go with something deep-bodied and robust. I think neons and cardinals would probably get targeted. It probably wouldn't be too bad with small severums, but you have adults and there's only a slim chance that they would ignore something as tiny as a neon.

You could try serpaes or lemon tetras to see if they go for something that small. Maybe even larger black neons. Buy a group of 6 and see if they last. I also like Buenos Aires tetras and Congo tetras (even though the latter isn't a South American tetra), but they probably grow over 2".

Thanks guys. I did not think of the deep body fish vs. the small/short body. This is good because this will help me move on from keeping the same exact fish over time. I always get neons! I am liking these serpae tetras so might try them out.

I have lemons with my sev.
