Hi, i got this Texas as a Jack Dempsey, when i spotted him out of the Dempseys i imedietly got him (knew it was a Tex) :D
So i got him 1. Dec this year at 2" Now he is 3" as i just measured him like an hour ago.
So, my questions are:

1. Is it a Carpinte, Cyano or a hybrid between them?
2. Is it male or female?
3. Prefers he meaty foods or is he a vegiterian?
4. If well taken care of in a 125 what growth should i expect from him monthly, he has grown 1 inch his first month in my tank?
5. Also, what is the difference between a male and a female?

It appears to be a female based on the squared-off dorsal fin.

Not sure as to what species in particular, but looks to be carpinte.

They are omnivores, but will enjoy earthworms, crickets, grass shrimp, and a good pellet or food stick.

I believe it to be a female Cyano. Just keep it on a good healty pellet diet with some usual treats like market shrimp, krill, mysis etc.

I agree with this! The spots are too small for carpintis.

So it is Female Cyanoguttatus, few more questions:
1. How big will it get?
2. Its been REALLY aggressive the last couple days, whats up with that, been chasing my male 2" Convict and my 2" Common Pleco like hell, theyre alone in 125.
