Sex and ID

Please sex and ID this fish. It is around 3 inches. It is a crazy mean fish if that helps at all. Also it has some dark vertical bars that show a lot more when it is in the mood. It's eyes are a very strong yet pretty red. I think its trying to mate with my 1.5 inch Mayan, but I this is no mayan haha

Agree it appears to be one of the Amphilophus group, and it trying to cross with a Mayan would not seem out of the ordinary, they are very similar.

Okay. I actually bought this fish out of a tank that said flowerhorn mixes. Some of them looked like this, some were completely orange (looked midevil), and some were both colors. I have another post labeled ID and sex and that fish came from the same batch. Supposedly. Although I'm skeptical because it was significantly larger and still is.
