Sex jack

I would like my jack D sexed, no pics because i have no clue where my camera is but its very dominate with the way bigger fish in the tank, it has two black spots, right before the back fins and right by its gills, his top fins have a neon orange line.
i heard these signs point to male but i want to hear from the experts

PS: its 1.5 inches, what size is a good time to start trying to breed it?

I don't know, it's kinda small to sex, but a good size to breed a jd is 4 inches.

at such a young age and no pics my humble opinion is that you have no chance of accurately sexing that fish.

jacks don't get kok, and both the males and females get relatively large with great coloration. I wouldn't worry too much about the sex at this point, just let that little guy grow....
