Hi guys..need to know what sex these jags are if possible??,,,any idea's

just a quess really because they are still young, and most of the times it is a quess anyway.. the top one looks female and bottom one looks male.. he shows more pattern and also a tinge of purple.. nice couple..

Sexing: Venting is 100% accurate each time if you know how to correctly make a conclusion. Best way is to remove the fish from the water and look between anal fins. Males vent will look like this (o o) females will looks like this (o O). Notice the larger circle for the female. That is the ovipositor where eggs are deposited and will almost always stick out quite a bit more than males papilla.

What size are they? can you get a picture of them directly from their side with their dorsal and anal fins completely fanned out?

Thanks guys i thought the same dont know why though,just a thought (guess).... Cant get a pic as they were sent by a fish shop 200 miles away, i needed to know the sex before maybe getting one delivered and that was the best shot they could get..... and they are 5 inch and six inch
