Sex my barred midas please

Not too sure what to look for when sexing a Midas. What does everyone think?

Really? It's about 3.5 inches or so. Can you tell me what to look for when it gets a little bigger.

males will develop more of a nuchal bump, male's will become larger than females both in height, width and length and then theres venting which is the most acurate way

A nuchal hump isn't always a sure fire telling its a male. I saw a red devil/midas hybrid in a lfs, huge hump. I thought it was a male till i saw "her" laying eggs.

OK, I'll give you a definate, possable, maybe and say male. There I said it!

way to early to tell by looking at it. Best thing to do is vent it.... you can't go wrong with that.

Very true. This is not a midas, but since another RD has already been drug into this I'll post my female RD. Note the rather well developed nuchal hump.

I read that midas cichlids can change sex I think up to about 4 '' ,soon as I can find that article I will let you know
