I am trying to get these to breed. I have labeled them 1 2 3 4 because I have 4 fish. Please sex them for me as I am confused. Thank you.

I am not sure but the first pic looks like a male.I dont see any clusters of blue on the gill plate. That pic also shows me a dempsey that doesnt look like a EBJD.Not like the others.Maybe its the angle pic is taken or maybe the actinic blue light. The other 3,too tough to tell, except at breeding time.

Looks like Male, Male, Female, Male.

Btw the first pic is a regular jack Dempsey.

On Regular Jacks, like what the first one looks to be, you need to look at the gill plates for blotches of blue which will indicate a female....your first looks like a male......as for the other three EB the first is def a male....second could be a female....third looks male....sexing the EB's is hard, and with my experience many of them can be infertile....good luck with them....

Never ran into a infertile EBJD male.. They are very fertile fish. There's no reason for them not to be... There not hybrids..

Take a look at my thread a few days ag,o I have pictures of EBJD's vents with one of mine being a male and the other is a female, their vents are quite different, then .compare your fish you'll see a difference.

Wow, not sure but they are gorgeous. I think you should send them to me, lol.
