ok ive had this festae for months im putting in my 150 to 200 gallon tank and i want to know if its sexable also there is a red sploch on the side

thanks i didnt mean to have peacful africans mixed with nasty fish kinda just happened but they dont really bother eachother probally cause the terrors will kill them my festae attacks a green terror twice her size its crazy

It wasn't stressed out those are it's normal colors and it is a female it has a good amount of red on it Thx and I'm sorry for the blurriness it's an old camera that my mon gave me

Your right about the green males do get that but all juvies have it as well and most of it has faded now

Can we get another video but better focus? I think u're too close.

I went to pick up a fish at a member's today. He had 3 Festaes. one big female about 7" that's red with bars and a big black on the dorsal. I told him it was female and he said it was a male and wasn't sure to believe.

I thought it was funny. He had nice fishes though. I was able to sex all 3 of his Festaes he couldn't even trust me when I told him his big, red, striped, black dorsal festae was a female so I don't think it matters.

You sure your's is a female now? I think it is too
