OK I got a new Jag last night for free from a friend that is moving. The fish is about 10 or 11" but is 3 years old. It looks like a male to me but thats kinda funny for it to be 3 years old and only 10 or 11 inches. I figured it might be a female because of its size. Although the fish was kept in a 55 gallon with many other fish so I thought it could be a stunted male. If it is a stunted male, can it grow larger now that it is in a 150 gallon??
heres some pics

ohhhhh.... and you'll notice there is a smaller jag in some of the pix, this guy is not even half the bigger ones size but has been following the bigger one everywhere with his gills pushed out trying to scare the big one off. Funny enough the big one is not really scared but constantly swims away from the little guy LOL I don't understand why he doesn't turn around and bite him. Although if the butti comes near the big one snaps at him right away???? could this be courting???

can you tell me why???? like how you can tell??? can you guys tell by this pics of the smaller ones sex????

Look at the pattern or lack of.

Look at the 1st pic, the fish in the front is the female and the one in the back is the male.

The second one is a good pic of the side of the male. you can see the female on the top right.

I dont know if you know this....but the little one is a male. She (the big one) may be a bit more submissive to him. I know all about submissive Jags! LOL long story there.

Hope that helps ya out a tiny bit more!
