they are little tiny babies it could be 2 males for all u know don't let morons who just get a kick out of clicking post make you go all the way back to the store. just wait it out

I'm growing out some myself right now they look like a pair to me. But I agree with Duane on this one. Wait and see what they develop into. Or go buy four and ensure yourself a pair.

Wow coming from the guy who posts a new thread every other day... OK first of all, RTMs are hands down the easiest parachromis to ID at almost any size. Males start developing spots on their fins and gill plates at 1" so by 2-3" those differences are obvious to anyone who's raised them from fry.

Secondly, I have 3 males that size and the OP's fish look nothing like them. However, they do look exactly like my 4 females (from different breeders). How many RTMs have you raised? Wait, you've only had jags and dovii, the 2 parachromis that are impossible to sex before like 4"? Then stfu

Oh and BTW, look at your post count and join date and then look at mine before u go around calling people morons who just like posting useless crap. Only a moron would tell someone to raise 2 juvie parachromis hoping for a compatible pair.

OP, I'm 100% positive the bigger one is a female and that smaller one looks even more like a female. If it doesn't start showing a spotted pattern within the next half inch I would get at least 2 more, although I recommend doing that anyways to improve your chances of still having a pair when they're ready to spawn. The people who bet on 2 fish are the ones posting WTB threads a few months later for adult fish at 5x the price

i'm definantly no expert on motas but they do look different from eachother so maybe you lucked out

That was what I was going for when I choose them from a lot of 4 :)

I might look into that spots on the gills and fins and see the other 2 left if they have any...
