I think that i a very scared/stressed not happy male. Put i the right water and true colors can come out almost instantly

Agree with Animal Guy...The females usually have darker/black dorsal fins in the front half of their bodies. That fish would be night and day in the right conditions.

The transparent dorsal also suggests male to me.

His color is faded, but he has beautiful lines...unique

Feed him some Krill to help his color
