sex my severums

I just picked up two large (10" approximately) green severums to add to my current 5" green and gold severums and was wanting to know what sex they were.

The big guys.

The smaller gold and green. The green is the one at the front of the picture.

All of the green severums in these pictures appear to be female. The camera may be washing out the colors on their faces, but I don't see any male facial markings on any of them.

A close up of the gill cover would be best, but as they are I agree all female.

Well I wake up this morning and one of the big ones is chasing away anything that gets close to it which I thought was strange. I look through the side of the tank and there is a load of eggs stuck to a large rock which it is guarding.

All of the gill plates have no markings on them the only one I have with markings is a 1" baby green severum.

Female severums will lay eggs together.
