Sex my Synspilum

Howdy all...got this Syn about a month ago. Rescued from LFS, fins and tail down to stumps due to a 5 star general he was housed with for a night. Looks like everything grew back quickly and he is starting to color up nicely. Unsure of sex, hoping for a male but not sure if it is obvious to anyone with vieja experience. He's about 5" and growing like a weed, 3/4 to 1" growth since I got him a month ago.





I'm hoping the reds and yellows continue to develop. There is a small cyst/scar tissue on the dorsal which i hope goes away with time...you can see how far the fins have come along though.
 
Nice syn and housing looks great. I can only guess and just guessing female
 
Ya, I agree with animal guy, fins are rounded and the profile isn't very slanted which a male would most likely have any this size. Still a beauty though, congrats
 
thx for the responses....you were supposed to say male though :) She certainly has turned into a real A** hole to my texas since healing and outgrowing him...I am hoping they will learn to play nice since the tex was turning into a beauty.
 
I mean if the fins are still growing and it is still in recovery it could be a male. The only for sure way to tell is to vent it. you can post some vent pics if your unsure.

then what does a Synspillum look like if you say that?

That Syn looks calm and chillin is what it looks like
 
Head/mouth shape and color is throwing me off, time will tell, most vieja I won't even consider unless from a reputable source..
