There seems to be a blotch in the dorsal, which would indicate a female, although it is subtle, and yours has fins that are pointed, normally a male trait.
The blotch can be subtle as in my female above.
Below is a male, no blotch
By the way yours looks to be H carpintus, which comes from no where near Texas.

Aye, as above. It is a Herichthys carpintis (Green Texas), rather than a Herichthys cyanoguttatum (Texas).
