Here are a few pics of my trimac around 2.5-3". Anybody have a clue if its male of female?

its kinda tuff to tell but i would like to say male just because i dont see a black splotch in the dorsol fin but it still seems like it may be too small to tell
Male.
I have a young pair (not together) and the female has definite black markings on the base of her dorsal fin. She also has the other typical female cichlid indicators like rounder body, rounded fins, and less colorful (pink area behind gills). Rounded fins.

Does any black spot on the dorsal fin indicate female or does it have to be a large spot? It looks like mine is starting to get a small one on its dorsal fin. You can kinda see it in pic 2 but it has goten darker since then.
it's still awefully small to be able to say for sure. I'd say let it get to around 4" and then you'll be able to get a much better idea.
