Looks male to me, nice looking fish

The heavy spotting and other markings on the gill plate and unpaired fins are male traits, females are "almost always" devoid of those on the gill plate, and the unpaired fins are also less intense.
Another more superficial male trait, are the long fin trailers
Well these pictures aren’t as good but here is the progress and potentially the proof? that its almost impossible to tell. This is 8 months later. I don’t feel a big change. Think it could be a girl.

Looks the same as before. Still a male. Females don't have that many freckles. Female would also have a black patch on the hard rays of the dorsal fin. Female also wouldn't have streamers that long. Your fish is well past the size where it's up for debate.
Looks male to me. Venting is always the best way to know for sure.
I’d say male but just re watched the mad aquarist YouTube video on COTA umbees. Looks like a female like he has with that big rio mag umbee at the beginning. Nice fish either way
