the pics are dark because my tank has a pitch black backround on back and sides. I had to use flash just to get anything. Also why female, its only 3" long and is bulky because it just ate 7 guppies right before i took the pic. Everything i've learned so far from websites tells me its male. It was twice the size of all its siblings and has always showed a dark line on its side where females often show just a black dot. And the others i had had little to no green in thie face or body and this one is covered in green. If you are going by the sharpness of the dorsal then you are wrong because they dont develope the pointed fins until they hit 4.5-5" or more and at that point the bulky body and not being more elongated would make a difference but at this point it doesn't. Can i get any experienced opinions here. I had a friend that has raised over 50 sets of umbee fry at his fish store and he tells me about 90% that its male due to its early spangling throughout its face and the enormous amount of green throughtout its body at only 3"... But i just wanted to hear from others,,,,,,,,,Also Ridether your female is a easy giveaway due to the darkblack on the upper dorsal. Mine has no black at all on the dorsal...
