Sex the Dovii

I believe i have sexed accurately, but have been advised from other members on the forum that I am wrong. They are both only about 3"

I always thought they were but was told by members that they cant be sexed at this size. Just wanted to confirm.

Yeah correct on the sequence of pics in Sex. But if they are only 3" then you have some AWESOME Dovii with you

yup what everyone else has said, some young fish are kind of cross-dressers and can be hard to sex but yours are clearly male and female and showing GREAT coloring already they are going to be absolutely stunning when they are monsters

Thanks, yeah they are still very young. Body length to base of tail is roughly 3" I was really surprised to see them colour up so early on.

There being fed a mixture of Hikari gold, krill, finely chopped earth worms, mysis and bloodworm.

The male has some lovely markings on him already with the brightest blues on any young I have previously sold.

They are currently in with a Midas, Mana, Trimac hybrid and a texas and there all bigger than the wolfs, but he charges around chasing them all and there petrified.

Just trying to find homes for them at the moment.

She is slightly bigger than him and a stronger feeder. She will eat anything but he seems to prefer Hikari gold. But as you can see by his belly, he does eat ;-)
