I can't tell from the pics, probably too young. But I have pics of mine, the male below is about 5"-7" here.

Notice that just the opposite from other Central American cichlids, in my pics the male has a less steep profile than the female. I would say yours has a more male profile, but at such a young age, it may simply be age or diet.
Granted males have more spangling. But to say females do not have spangling is flat out wrong and I have had Grammodes and my females had some spangling. The Grammode pictured above I would say is a female pretty much do to no color. But I also don't think it has had the best diet and water.
