Well I was walking by the tank today and I notice two crayfish at war. Strange since they routinely cross paths even in the big tank and one bails quickly before a conflict heats up. As I watch this unfold I am contemplating getting something to stick in the tank and break the fight up since I like them and I don't want one separated into component parts! As I look closer I notice there is no damage being done and one crayfish has very neatly pinned the other's limbs back in each claw. I am starting to catch on here so I go online and look up pics of crayfish mating. BINGO........I have horny crustaceans! Cool. I think I will name the male "Chester" hehe. I am hoping its an additional indication that the tank is healthy and the occupants are digging their environment.
