sexing a tilapia buttikoferi

anyone know how to tell the sex of this thing? all i keep reading is that males are bigger? ok compared to what? what is a big tilapia? i dont have much to compare it to. how big is big? i dont know how old it is or its exact size but probably 10 inches

Females generally max out at 12". Males "can" reach 16+. The only way you can sex them young is if you can buy them out of a tank of 5-6 fish. The most colorful and boisterous one is most likely the dominant male.
