i was wondering if anybody out there that have tiger pike[hepstus odus] , have you ever been able to sex them or have one of your atp's ever had a red tail or red hue to the tail. these are all questions that i can't find answers for so please help if yall can. thanks.

have no idea, i have a good sized one, so i hope someone nows bc it would be cool to see what i have

The only info I've ever found was that females are larger and heavier-looking than males. I didn't look further since aquarium spawning looks too far-fetched. These pikes are rain triggered to migrate to spawning grounds and construct floating foam nests to hold eggs and fry.

what type of spawing ground do they go too and if it rains that means water tempature drops which in turn would you need a cold water system to make them want to spawn?
if you can trigger this response what typen of water conditions would be needed for the spawning site? HOLLA BACK!

I have yet to find any info on whether or not the rain trigger is temperature or pH. I've also translated several studies with the words "spawning grounds" in the docs. But, there's not been any mention of the makeup of these spawning areas. Still searching...
