Hey guys i just got a couple of bristle nose pleco's. One has very large bristles all over its head. Guessing that is def. a male. the one in question is this one. Much smaller bristles only on the lip of the fish.

females can and do get some small bristles but not normally until they are full grow.
I would say male from that pic.

They both are about the same size around 4 inches. The two look really different. The first one has long spikes all over his head, and the other has a smooth head and bristles on its lip.
